Terms of Service – Lawctopus Law School

Welcome to Lawctopus Law School (“LLS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your registration for our webinars, courses, and use of the Learning Management System (LMS), live classes, and associated community groups (WhatsApp/Telegram/e-mail), as well as any other products, services, features, or platforms that we may offer now or in the future (collectively referred to as the “Services”). Please read them carefully. By registering for a webinar or course or using our LMS you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. 

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not register for or use our services.

1. Who we are

Lawctopus Law School is an online education platform under the umbrella of Lawctopus, offering live webinars, live courses, recorded modules, assignments, certificate programmes and community communication for law students and early-career lawyers.

2. Registration and Payment

  • You may register for webinars, free or paid, via a payment link (for paid ones, e.g., through Razorpay) or via a Zoom/registration page even without logging into a full website account.
  • For paid courses, full payment (or as otherwise set out at time of enrolment) is required to attend, unless an alternate payment plan is specified.
  • At the time of registration, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date details, including your full name, active e-mail address, and functioning mobile number. Your mobile number must be active on WhatsApp (or any other communication platform used by LLS) to facilitate your addition to course/community groups. Please note that only the mobile number provided at the time of registration will be added to the WhatsApp group.
  • Please also ensure that you have appropriate device access and stable internet connectivity to participate smoothly in the course.

3. Access to Course Content & LMS

  • Course materials (text, video lectures, reading modules, assignments) are provided via our LMS and/or associated platforms.
  • You may view content via laptop/desktop, tablet or mobile device; however downloading of materials (unless explicitly permitted) is not allowed.
  • You agree to access the content only for your personal learning. Downloading, storing, reproducing, sharing, or distributing any material, unless explicitly permitted, is strictly prohibited. 
  • Access to the LMS and course content is granted for the duration specified for the course. 
  • You must keep your login credentials confidential and must not share them with anyone. Any misuse may lead to suspension or termination of access without refund.

4. Live Classes & Webinars

  • Live classes or webinars will be conducted via platforms such as Zoom or similar. The schedule will be communicated in advance. On rare occasions, the class may be rescheduled; we will endeavour to give notice of any change.
  • Please ensure that you have the necessary device, internet connectivity, audio/video capability, and updated software to join on time and participate effectively in live sessions.
  • You agree to join live sessions using the same name you registered with
  • These sessions will often be recorded. By registering, you agree to our sharing of such recordings with the learners of the batch.
  • For webinars and live sessions you agree to behave respectfully and professionally. Harassment, vulgar behaviour, changing display names to objectionable names, sharing pornographic or hateful content, or any abusive conduct is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to remove or block participants who engage in such behaviour, without refund.

5. Assignments, Evaluation & Certification

  • Assignments will be shared over platforms such as Google Forms / Google Docs or equivalent. You agree to submit assignments by the deadlines specified.
  • You agree to maintain academic integrity in all submissions. All work must be your own, and plagiarism, use of AI tools without permission, or copying from others is strictly prohibited.
  • Only those learners who successfully complete the required assignments (as per the course outline) will be eligible for the certificate of completion.
  • The criteria for “successful completion” will be as communicated for each course.

6. WhatsApp/Telegram/Email Groups & Communications

  • Each batch will have associated WhatsApp and/or Telegram groups and email communications for updates, reminders, cohort discussions, and feedbacks.
  • By registering you consent to being added to such groups and to receive communications about the course, future courses, counselling calls, offers and updates from us (you may opt out where permitted).
  • Only the mobile number provided at the time of registration will be added to the WhatsApp/Telegram groups. Requests for adding alternate numbers will be at the discretion of Lawctopus Law School.
  • You agree not to misuse the group (spam, irrelevant promotions, unlawful content) and to maintain decorum. We reserve the right to remove or mute members who violate these rules.
  • You agree to not share group links or add external participants without prior permission from the administrators.

7. Sales & Follow-up Calls

  • After registration for webinars (free or paid) or enrollment in courses, our sales or counselling team may contact you (by phone, WhatsApp, email) about upcoming courses, upgrades or related services. By registering you consent to such contact (you may decline further calls).
  • Such sales outreach does not alter your rights under the course purchase or our policies.

8. Refunds & Money-Back Guarantee

  • Unless a specific course states otherwise, refunds and guarantees apply only under the terms published at enrolment.
  • We reserve the right to modify refund/guarantee policies for future courses; policies for a given batch will be those stated at the time of enrolment.

9. Intellectual Property

  • All course content (videos, reading modules, assignments, live session recordings, graphics, brand/trademarks) remain the property of Lawctopus Law School or its licensors. Access to content does not grant ownership rights to you.
  • You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the content for your personal learning. You must not reproduce, distribute, publicly display or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
  • On submitting assignments, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your submitted work for anonymised display, evaluation or promotional purposes.

10. Termination / Suspension

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access (at our discretion) if you breach these Terms including misconduct in live sessions/groups, sharing of course materials, or failure to maintain payment obligations.
  • On termination your access rights will cease; you remain liable for any outstanding  amounts owed to us.
  • No refunds will be provided for termination due to breach of these Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • Our courses are designed to provide learning and skill-development, but we do not guarantee specific job placements, income outcomes or career advancement, unless otherwise stated.
  • To the maximum permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the course. We are not liable for indirect, special or consequential losses.

12. Changes to Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time (for legal, regulatory or operational reasons). The “Last Updated” date will reflect the change. Your continued use of the services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.
  • Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chandigarh, India (or as otherwise agreed at enrolment).
