If you have mooted before, this course (and the competition in-built into it) will help you enhance your skills.

Lawctopus Law School’s Course on Moot COURSE (& Competition) 

This course covers everything about mooting. As a part of this course, the students will actually do a moot competition too! You’ll be given a moot problem, be asked to draft a memo, given feedback on that, and then we’ll take you to the oral rounds where you get to argue before a judge! And yes, you’ll be given feedback during the oral rounds.

Fresh mooters can expect a supportive environment. Experienced mooters can expect some grilling from the judges!

Module 1: Introduction to Mooting

Orientation Session

ASSIGNMENT 1: Submit your Moot Memos and Get Feedback

  • Draft moot memos based on a moot problem
  • Note: Open source research resources will suffice for this assignment. Subscription to any paid tool (like Manupatra or SCC Online is NOT required).
  • Submissions are done via Google Docs (detailed instructions, guidance, and support will be provided)
  • Useful, personalized feedback is given on each memorial submission

Live Lecture 3: On Court Mannerisms and Argumentation

  • Pro-mooters will tell you (again) how to argue
  • What are the common mistakes to avoid
  • Strategies, tips, and advice (especially for introverts)

Module 5: Live Online Moot Court Competition: Oral Rounds + Personal Feedback!

  • Welcome to a real, online moot court competition
  • Argue before an expert mooting judge and get feedback
  • If you are new to mooting or are an introvert, please don’t worry! We are here to guide you!
  • Each student will be able to watch at least 10 other students argue and get feedback from our expert judge(s)
  • Each student will be able to argue and get personalized feedback from our expert judge(s)

Module 6: Building a Mooting Culture in Your College

Live closing session
